Bellydance Technique for beginners who want to learn bellydance moves and for more advanced students who want drills, drills, drills! Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. This class is for women of all shapes and sizes.
Anaya Tribal Style!
Learn to dance with your sisters!
Tribal Style is a form of belly dance that focuses on group improvisation. With a leader / follower relationship, you will learn a tribal language based on easy to remember moves and cues. Everyone learns to lead and follow so that the flow of movement and energy is ever-changing.
Students must attend the Level 1 before attending Level 2.
We highly suggest continuing Level 1 until you are confident in leading and all beginning level moves. We also suggest Level 2 students continuing in Level 1 classes as a warm-up/refresher to maintain their foundation skills. Level 3 students also should re-take intermediate as a warm-up/refresher, as well.
Teen Tribal - SEEDs (Self Esteem Empowerment and Education through Dance)
Pomegranate SEEDs (Self Esteem, Empowerment and Education through Dance); young women, ages 13-17, learn bellydance technique, dance history and improvisational Tribal Style dance - a dance form fusing ancient and modern ethnic dance - middle eastern bellydance, flamenco, East Indian, North African. This improvisational dance generates options & choices helping young women build quick thinking, self-esteem and confidence. Dancing as a tribe or group, they build respect for their peers and the diversity of the group. Class addresses fitness, body image and self esteem as it applies to young women - establishing knowledge and honor for their bodies in an age appropriate manner. Dance and look cool doing it! No dance experience necessary.

Men's Bellydance
Curious, Boys? Improve your flexibility, your rhythm and your appeal with the art of bellydance. Learn bellydance traditional & fusion moves in masculine form. We break it down for the male body. Open to gay and straight men. Great for fire spinners, too.
Sword Technique & Combos
Demystify the danger. Learn balancing, weilding, safety and care while learning fun combinations. Emphasis on posture, balance and flexibility. Bring a balanced sword, knee pads and a yoga mat.
What should I bring when I come to class?
CLOTHES - Wear comfortable clothes - yoga pants and a tank are best as you can see the movement of your body. Loose clothing tends to make it harder to see what's going on underneath. You can wear a coin or hip scarf if you have one.
WATER - Bring water, we can work up a sweat!
ZILS - In all tribal classes, please plan on bringing zils or finger cymbals. Borrow them from a friend, purchase a set (4) from our studio, online or at a bookstore (you can get a basic pair from the bellydance kits they arecheap but not great. Try to get a set that has double holes to eliminate wiggle. We have a few loaner sets to use in class if you forget them.
A SMILE - a good attitude and the willingness to let go and have fun!
A FRIEND - she might like it to! And two memories are better than one!
